    Graham J Clegg Funeral Services was established by experienced Funeral Director Graham Clegg in Maghull, Merseyside, in 1994. Graham joined the profession in 1974, working with his grandfather, father and uncle in the family business where he learned his trade. Since branching out on his own, he has built up a strong reputation in the community for excellent customers service.

    The team at our Maghull funeral home will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one. 

    Here at Graham J Clegg Funeral Services we also offer an affordable prepaid funeral plan, Choice, so that you can arrange and pay for a funeral in advance. This will protect your family from rising costs and remove uncertainty about your wishes.

    If you would like to talk to us about planning a funeral, or our Choice plan, please come and see us in any of our funeral homes, or if you’d rather we can arrange a home visit.     Graham J. Clegg


    Graham J Clegg Funeral Services was established in 1994 by Graham J. Clegg who joined the funeral profession in 1974, working in what was his grandfather’s business where he learned his trade.
    Since branching out on his own the business has grown from strength to strength becoming the largest business in the area – with an enviable reputation in the local community for excellent customer service and attention to detail.

    Alan Clegg

    Trainee Funeral Director

    Alan says he enjoys meeting new people, caring for their loved ones and knowing he has provided the best possible service to his families.

    He enjoys watching football and spending time with his friends and family. He also likes watching his son’s sparring sessions in his spare time.

    Martin Mashiter-Coates

    Funeral Director and Embalmer

    Martin joined Funeral Partners in July 2017 and joined the Graham J. Clegg Funeral Services team in Liverpool in March 2018.

    He has worked within the Funeral Service and the wider bereavement services since 2002 and spent 14 years with a larger funeral service, joining a smaller Funeral Service before being invited to join Funeral Partners.

    Martin says “What I love about my role, is being in a position to help families going through such a terrible time and to do everything I can do in order to make that time much less stressful and difficult and to make sure they have the best possible service for their loved one and if they want to have something unusual e.g A Motorcycle Hearse or Repatriation then I will make sure that can happen for the family.”

    He is a fully qualified embalmer and has been a full member of The British Institute of Embalmers since 2013 and is a Past-Chairman of the North West Division of The British Institute of Embalmers.

    He is also an active member of Lions Club International and from July, will be my Club’s Vice-President and Secretary.

    Martin loves spending time with his family and at the weekends, he helps to referee at his Son’s Rugby Club and supports his local division of the National Association of Funeral Directors and The British Institute of Embalmers.

    Julie Whitfield

    Funeral Arranger

    Julie joined Graham J. Clegg Funeral Services in January 2020, having previously worked for the Merseyside Police.

    Julie says she enjoys “meeting families and helping them with arrangements for their loved ones.”

    She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology, B.A Hons in Psychology, Diploma in Psycholdynamic Counseling Level 3, Diploma in Casework Supervision and Diploma in Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy.

    In her spare time, Julie enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

    Geoff Brown

    Funeral Service Operative

    Geoff joined Graham J. Clegg Funeral Services in May 2020, having previously worked at another local Funeral Directors for 11 years.

    Geoff says he enjoys “caring for families and their loved ones and ensuring that the day of the funeral goes as smoothly and professionally as possible.”

    He has been involved in several fundraising events. His greatest achievement was making a choice to change career from running his own driving school to becoming a Funeral Service Operative.

    Geoff loves family time with his young granddaughter, going on holiday (especially to Cornwall, where his son lives) and supporting his local football team.

    Colin Young

    Funeral Service Operative

    Colin joined Graham J. Clegg Funeral Services in May 2020, having previously worked at another local Funeral Directors.

    Colin says he enjoys “caring for families and their loved ones and learning new things.”

    He spent 14 years in the Royal Navy and 17 years with the Merseyside Police.

    Geoff likes crosswords and puzzles and supporting his local football team.

    Andrew Nimmo

    Andrew joined Graham J. Clegg Funeral Services in December 2019, having previously worked at Everton Football Club.

    He says he enjoys everything about his job, but especially the charity work he is involved with.

    Andrew likes shooting and fishing in his spare time.
