Alan Clegg helped us through a difficult time when Mum passed away. Alan created a beautiful order of service for mum and it seriously took my breath away. Mum was in a wicker casket, as per her wishes and Alan arranged for a beautiful flower arrangement that included pink lilies from her own garden.
I can’t thank Alan enough. I know Mum had the best goodbye.

We used Graham Clegg services when our Dad passed away and from the first phone call, Sarah was fantastic. We had never arranged a funeral before but the patience and care Sarah showed us was amazing. She answered every single question I asked her with compassion and empathy and she went out of her way to get us a suitable date and time for the funeral.
Thank you to Alan for taking my call on a Sunday when I was having a meltdown sending photos. Alan ended up making me laugh and calming me down, it was exactly what I needed.
Matthew on the day was wonderful, he asked me if I was okay and ready for the service to start and he showed so much respect and care.
Frank as our driver was exactly who we needed, he chatted to us on the way to the crematorium and looked after my mum (who had a walker) in such a lovely way.
The whole team has looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Also a special mention to the celebrant Adele James who was incredible from start to finish.

My mum passed away in December 2024, and we chose to use Graham Clegg for her funeral (they had done my Dad's back in 2004, and other family members during the years) From the first phone call, I knew I had made the right decision to choose this company. Alan has been amazing during the whole process. The help, care and compassion that was shown from the first phone call was unbelievable. The advice, guidance and support has been incredible. Alan and his team helped make mums funeral perfect! And myself, my brothers and the rest of our family can't thank them enough!

Anyone reading this, if you need to use a funeral director, use this company. You won't regret it, they won't let you down!

Phenomenal care from start to finish

I found myself dealing with the loss of my Mum unexpectedly aged 31, with no idea of what to do or what the process was.

I’ll admit, the only reason I called Graham Clegg was because I live in Maghull and had drove past their office a few times. I had no reference point on who was a “good” funeral directors. Also, they were the only funeral directors who answered the phone that evening - Mum died in the early hours.

Within the first call, I was reassured and blown away by their empathy and professionalism. Within the hour, they had collected Mum from the hospice and taken her body into their care. Even the hospice staff commented on how respectful they were when dealing with her.

The next day, Sarah contacted me to begin the next steps. She was beautifully empathetic and I knew Mum was in good hands. She visited us the next day in person and I brought the whole family so it must have been daunting for Sarah with 9 people asking her questions, but she made what would have been a difficult conversation, a pleasant and comforting experience.

Cleggs were in touch throughout and the day before the funeral itself, Alan came to visit us to run through everything which made us feel at ease. The day itself could not have gone any better - everything went to plan, it was exactly what was promised and beyond.

Even since the funeral Cleggs have still been supportive. I went to collect Mums ashes and they noticed my tyres were flat and inflated them for me before I left!

Hopefully, I won’t need to use Cleggs again anytime soon, but I couldn’t be happier about my dealings with them and would totally recommend.

A massive thank you to Alan & all the staff at the Dover Road branch. You all made losing my Nan that little bit easier, and took off any pressure we had. We could not fault the service we received.
My Nan looked absolutely beautiful when we went to see her resting, and their planning of her service was just beautiful; even us changing the route last minute to go past my nans road for her neighbours to wave her off to her final resting place was not an issue.

From the first point of contact with Clegg's, we dealt with Alan, who is an absolute credit to your business. Nothing was too much trouble, he really did make what was a difficult time, a little easier. The funeral was exactly as what we wanted for our Nan, and he even rang long after the funeral to check in on the family and see how everyone was doing. We were kept informed all the way through the process and they treated our Nan as if she was part of their family.

Our first contact was with Helen, who treated us sympathetically, was courteous and extremely helpful. Alan and the rest of the team were friendly and polite, and on the day of Mums funeral were outstanding, everything went as planned. At such a sad time, the team at Cleggs were exemplary, and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I took responsibility for the funeral of my estranged husband which was more upsetting to me than I had expected. The Clegg’s team were helpful, compassionate and supportive which is what I needed. My children and I are proud of the service that we held for him and we are truly grateful to the Cleggs team in achieving this. Can highly recommend.
